Installation Process
The installation of your new dog shower could not be easier. With our experience, we can guarantee an efficient installation with minimum disruption and strict adherence to relevant water regulations and bylaws. Mess is kept to an absolute minimum, with a site clean after each installation, ensuring that all we leave you with is your new shower.
The first step is to conduct a pre installation survey to establish proposed location of the shower, allowing us to assess access to pipework behind the shower inside the property to connect to both hot and cold water supplies. This survey will show how much space is available to install relevant back flow prevention valves, to prevent contamination of the supply caused by back siphoning if there is a drop in pressure. This is a water regulation required by law. We would also install lever valves to both hot and cold water feeds to the shower to allow isolation in extreme weather conditions to help prevent freezing water causing damage to the shower.
Once a suitable location for the shower is decided, we then go away and prepare the shower for installation. This involves the fixing of the shower mixer valve in the box, the riser rail to hold the shower head, and the insulation inside to help prevent damage from extreme winter weather. We double insulate the inside of the box with a 20mm hard foam in the internal recesses of the box and then foil insulation all around the inside to add a further protective layer.
Once the box has been prepared and installation day is here, we arrive at your home and prepare the inside working area with dust sheets and water catchers for when we connect to the supply. Externally, we set up the work area with a work bench and ensure there is a power supply for any power tools required. Our engineers use battery powered tools wherever possible but the drill used to bore through the wall is mains powered. We use our own extension leads with thermal cut out devices to prevent any damage to the electric supply in your home.
The installation requires two holes approximately 25mm diameter to be drilled through the wall to allow the pipework to be connected to the shower. The pipe is then sleeved and wrapped to protect it from damage and corrosion in the wall. Once drilled, the shower box is fixed on each corner, providing a neat, solid fix to the wall.
Once the box is fixed to the wall, the internal pipework is adapted and connected to the shower incorporating the relevant isolation and back flow prevention valves. The unit is then flushed and tested for leaks. Once this process is complete, the shower head is fitted and then it can be used.
All mess is cleared inside and outside your home and a full demonstration is given.
After this, your Mucky Paws Dog Shower is ready to be enjoyed by your muddy pooches, but most importantly of all, you! - ensuring that any mud collected by your furry friends on their adventures is washed away and not left in your home.
